Mt. Etna, Sicily
$49.99 6+ (code 6SAVES5)
Feudo is a single vineyard wine from a contrada in Randazzo. It sits 650-670 meters above sea level and the vines are now over 70 years old. The entire vineyard is around 10 hectares but only the oldest 1 hectare parcel of vines is selected for the single contrada bottling. The wine is almost entirely Nerello Mascalese but also have very small amounts of Nerello Cappuccio since the varieties are co-planted. Feudo is fermented in a combination of formats - 2,600 liter barrels, cement, and vat.

The 2016 Etna Rosso Feudo is distinguished by wild fruit and forest floor. It also delivers an exciting note of dried basil or rosemary oil that pops from the bouquet with attractive vertical lift. This is a delicate, almost fragile wine (at least in terms of its aromas). But the mouthfeel is firm, tight and full of electric spark.
