The 2018 Chianti Classico is a very pretty, open-knit wine. Silky and perfumed, this mid-weight Radda Chianti Classico is all finesse. Dried flowers, herbs and sweet pipe tobacco add lovely aromatic nuance throughout. The 2018 finishes with bright acids and plenty of energy. Give it a few years in bottle to come around.
The Chianti Classico "Caparsa" 2018 is the Annata di Caparsa wine. This wine is produced from Sangiovese grapes harvested by hand in the Caparsa vineyards and is mainly aged in concrete containers but it can also be aged in oak barrels, more or less long according to the indications of the vintage. It can be bottled in several batches. The 2018 vintage, a reprieve from the recent hot growing seasons, is a classic representation of Chianti Classico and the Sangiovese grape.
The design of the label comes from the book "Veglie a Porcignano" written by Reginaldo Cianferoni, founder of Caparsa, illustrates a farmer contemplating a bunch of grapes.
