Navaherreros Blanco is made from Albillo and Macabeo, the predominant indigenous white grape varieties in the area around Madrid. The vines are between 30 and 85 years old, and are harvested manually. Maceration periods depend on the features of each vineyard. Vinification takes place in 500 and 600 L French oak barrels, and then aged in French and Austrian oak barrels for 9 -12 months. The wine is neither stabilized nor filtrated. Cousins Juan Bulnes and Santiago Bulnes took their grandfather's 80 year old vineyards to actualize his dream and made sure the project got off to a good start with the help of Spanish legend, Raúl Pérez.
This wine exudes ripe stone fruit w/ mineral notes, citrus, and a hint of a herbaceousness. Balanced and complex, the lively mouthfeel and a long, persistent finish will leave you coming back for more.
